Martial Arts Fitness

Martial arts is a sport that requires the people participating to be mentally and physically fit.

The first requirement of a martial arts fitness regime is to ensure that the person is physically fit before he or she enrolls in a competition.

The second requirement of martial arts fitness regime is to ensure that you are physically strong. Participants are required to engage in fitness activities such as warm ups, running and other body strengthening activities such as practicing hand movements and leg movements.

Special exercises to increase the strength of the fingers, wrists, shoulders and knees are usually included in the martial arts fitness regimes and these exercises prevent injury.

Martial arts promote both internal and external fitness by ensuring that a person’s body and mind is healthy. Breathing exercises help increase internal strength, balancing exercises increase the agility and body control of a person and concentration exercises increase the mental strength of a person.

Physical or external exercises such as moves, manoeuvres and movements help a person strengthen his body while using internal strength in order to defeat the opponent.
