Different Martial Arts

Martial arts are a term used for many types of different martial arts such as Judo, Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, Karate and Jujitsu. Each of these has been developed in different parts of the world and each of these techniques use a varying moves to defeat the opponent.

Kung Fu is a type of Chinese martial arts that can be traced up to the Xia Dynasty. Different martial arts often use varying techniques to disarm the opponent also Kung Fu uses meditation and internal fitness to defeat the opponent.

Internal training used in Kungf Fu involves strengthening the heart, mind, spirit and practicing breathing in order to strengthen one’s body. External training involves using the hands and body to practice stances in order to defeat the opponent.

Kung Fu fighters also use weapons to defeat the opponent and weapons are used in Kung Fu as an extension of the defender’s body. In Kung Fu a lot of importance is given to stances since these teach a person to defeat opponents by using methods such as different foot positions, different body weight distribution methods and different body alignment positions.

Jujitsu was first used by the Samurais of feudal Japan in order to defeat armed and armoured opponents.

Traditionally grappling was the most common technique used in Jujitsu but these days other techniques are also used to defeat opponents. Jujitsu uses three main techniques to defend the opponents and the techniques used are joint locks, restrains and self defense moves.

Joint locks can be practiced on any part of the body that bends and joint locks that are used in this type of martial arts include the shoulders, elbow, fingers and knees. Biting and poking are two techniques that are used to disarm the opponent and biting is often used when the opponent uses a bear hug move while poking is often used when the opponent uses grappling techniques.

Different martial arts have been influenced by the principles of Jujitsu and Judo has been derived from Jujitsu. Judo believes in the same principles as Jujitsu and utmost importance is given to universal harmony and peace. Some types of Japanese karate have also taken birth from Jujitsu and the Wado Ryu school of Karate is thought to have evolved from Shindo Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu.
